"Let us not wonder if something happens which never was before, or if something doth not appear among us with which the ancients were acquainted." —Plutarch
Last night, a friend asked me what I've wondered lately. So here are some things I'm wondering.
- Who's been Googling me? Someone found my blog by searching for " 'Jon Rubin' + Belleair". The IP number hails from Illinois, but that's all I know. Well, okay, I've got my suspicions: the same person used my blog's internal search engine to look for a name that means a lot to me.
- Two weeks ago, someone IMed me to simply say "hi." I didn't recognize the screen name and wasn't around to respond anyway. A week later, when I got a chance, I IMed back...only to discover that the person who owns that screen name had no clue whom I was. He'd had a bunch of people over the week before, and one of them must have IMed me. Except I'm stumped as to whom it'd be. I wonder whom I know who would have ended up at a Georgetown Law student's party.
- Who reads my blog in Australia? There's a Mac user down under who's subscribed to my feed with NewsFire. Hi there. I wonder who you are? And what's NewsFire like? I've never used it. Also: keeping your HTTP port open when you haven't configured Apache is probably a security hole...
- Who reads my blog in the UK using RSSBandit? Is that you, Ms. Pottle? If so, I'm sorry it's taken me so horribly long to get around to proofreading your excellent paper. I've been in a procrastinatory funk. And if "procrastinatory" isn't a word, it should be.
If you are any of these people, or even if you're not, feel free to get in touch with me. I try to not keep contact information on this blog because of spammers' address harvesters, but you can find my email and screenname here or just leave a comment on this post.

I am reading your blog in the UK via RSSBandit. As you see, I am not Ms. Pottle, but I do think that if procrastinatory isn't a word, then it will be. Hi.
